Wedding Themes
March 1st, 2010One of the most creative way of planning a wedding is having a theme. While most couple are contented with simply having a color scheme for their wedding, having a theme aside from the color scheme can contribute a lot to making the event more memorable and enjoyable.
There are many themes that the bride and groom can come up with. One of the simplest basis of the theme would be the season or time of the year when the wedding will be. Sometimes, the color scheme also becomes dependent on this kind of theme. For example, a wedding in October can have a fall theme and, thus, have a color scheme of orange, red, brown, and such.
Another popular basis of the wedding theme would be favorite movies or books of the couple. The bride and groom might be avid fans of the Lord of the Rings trilogy and choose to have such theme. Or they might go for classic movies such as Casablanca, Gone With The Wind, or My Fair Lady.
Sometimes, couple even go for themes depending on their professions. An architect groom-to-be might want to incorporate his architectural skills in the wedding, especially in the reception decorations and probably in the invitations too. Similarly, a bride-to-be with a background in music might wish to have music-related elements in her wedding, such as piano keyboard accents on the invites, CDs of the couple’s favorite music as favors, and such.
If the couple has gone on a holiday to a foreign city, they might even want to base their wedding theme on the culture of that city. For example, if the groom-to-be had proposed during a holiday in Paris, they might want to have a Parisian themed wedding, in honor of that happy moment of their life.
There is absolutely no limit as to what theme you can have for your wedding. Let your imagination soar. You can even incorporate several themes that you like into one, thus making it truly your own.
