YOURS is a match made in heaven, and angels rejoice at your unity. Then, why not have your wedding with an angelic theme? Below are ideas that you can incorporate into your wedding to make it more heavenly.

Colors:

White, white, white! …and some gold, of course.

Bridal attire:

A lovely, light and ethereal white gown. Fabric should be light and soft as a feather, to create a flying-angel feel. Also your gown can have silvery glitters on it, to exude a divine goddess look. For your headdress, a golden halo would be perfect. Otherwise, you can also have white and sky blue blossoms as head wreath or cascading on your flowing hair. You can choose to go barefoot, or wear light slippers.

Groom’s attire:

White tuxedo with a sky blue flower for the boutonniere. Or you can choose a white suit that looks soft and not stiff.


Attendants:

Heavenly chiffon empire-waist dresses for your bridesmaids, either in white or very light shades of blue, pink or any other color of your choice that matches the theme of your wedding. Soft feathered angel wings may also be a part of your bridesmaids’ or flower girls’ attire.

Invitations:

Pure white with angel designs and some gold accents. If you can have your font in gold, it would be lovely, like an invitation made in heaven. Your paper may be shining white or ivory, with those tiny glitters. You can also enclose in the envelope a tiny soft white feather or two, or some fluffy cotton, for a more angelic touch.

Reception Ideas:

Decors may include light-colored billowy fabrics (for drapes and table covers), twinkle lights, Greek columns (with cascading white roses and ivy), angel sculptures, tall golden candelabras, and white & sky blue balloons. Consider an angel or cherub ice sculpture as your buffet table centerpiece. Sprinkle some gold or silver glitters on the tables. It would also add some drama and romance to have a lighted fountain.

Foods:

Angel food cake, with white icing (and even some silver or gold shimmer) and, of course, an angelic topper. Fluffy white marshmallows, lemon meringue pie, vanilla ice cream, pasta in white sauce, etc. These foods are mostly white, so they add to the angelic ambiance. You may have to cut down on the hot and spicy foods, since they contradict the theme.

Favors:

Holiday ornaments, shaped soaps, figurines, photo frames, or any collectible with an angel design. For edible favors, you can have miniature angel food cakes, angel shaped cookies, angel shaped candies or chocolates, or fluffy white meringues or white sugar coated almonds.

Other Ideas:

Encourage guests to dress in white. When everyone is in white, it just feels like you are in heaven. Have a dry ice smoke machine operate at some parts of the wedding/reception (like at the entry area or at the stage), to create dense fog on the floor for a more dramatic effect.
